About GOVMOVE

Pioneering a New Era in Government Operations

At GOVMOVE, we are at the forefront in advocating for the relocating of federal agencies out of Washington, D.C. and into ALL states across the nation. By decentralizing government agency in DC area, we can bring decision-making closer to the communities affected by these federal policies.

Thomas Jefferson's Letter to Gideon Granger (1800).

"Our country is too large to have all its affairs directed by a single government. Public servants at such a distance, and from under the eye of their constituents, must lose their dependence upon them and be supported by a corrupt squadron, independent of the people, and extending its connections through the Union."

Thomas Jefferson's Letter to Joseph C. Cabell (1816).

"The way to have good and safe government is not to trust it all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to everyone exactly the functions he is competent to. Let the national government be entrusted with the defense of the nation, and its foreign and federal relations; the state governments with the civil rights, laws, police, and administration of what concerns the state generally; the counties with the local concerns of the counties, and each ward direct the interests within itself. It is by dividing and subdividing these republics from the great national one down through all its subordinations until it ends in the administration of every man's farm by himself; by placing under everyone what his own eye may superintend, that all will be done for the best."

Empowering the American People Through Location Decentralization

Enhance Accessibility: Ensure that federal services are readily accessible to all Americans by decentralizing agencies to every state.

Empower Local Communities: Foster a stronger connection between federal policies and local needs by situating agencies closer to the people they serve, facilitating more responsive governance.

Promote Economic Growth: Stimulate local economies across the nation by creating jobs and infrastructure investments associated with hosting federal agencies.

Increase Efficiency: Streamline bureaucratic processes and decision-making by dispersing federal offices, reducing administrative overhead and improving service delivery.

Facilitate Innovation: Encourage diverse perspectives and innovative solutions by integrating regional expertise and insights into federal programs and policies.

Strengthen National Unity: Promote a more cohesive and inclusive America by ensuring that every state has a stake in federal governance and policymaking.

Enhance Public Trust: Build confidence in government agencies by relocating them to various states, fostering transparency, accountability, and responsiveness.

One significant historical event related to decentralizing federal power in the United States is the drafting and ratification of the Articles of Confederation. This document, adopted by the Continental Congress in 1777 and ratified in 1781, established a confederation of sovereign states with a weak central government. The Articles of Confederation were intentionally designed to prevent the concentration of power in a central authority, reflecting the colonies' desire to maintain autonomy and prevent tyranny.

Through our initiatives, we promote that citizens communicate directly with their representatives to start the process of migrating government agencies throughout the United States and start the process of getting back to our founding concept of a strong State Republic and a more responsive decentralized Federal Government..  Send your preference to your representative.

NATIONAL CHALLENGE

What congress can do for Americans.

GOVMOVE challenges Congress and the Senate to pass laws mandating the relocation of federal agencies from Washington, D.C. to various states across the Union. This initiative is not about defunding or draining the Swamp, but about strategically dispersing these entities to enhance efficiency and better serve the American people and gain greater confidence of our government systems. By relocating agencies, we can decentralize power, bring government functions closer to citizens, and stimulate local economies, fostering a more inclusive and effective federal system. It's time to rethink the centralized model and create a more geographically diverse and responsive government.
